when i type into the search bar on safari, it comes up with a yahoo or bing search instead of google like it normally would do

I've had my macbook pro for about 2 years and any time i would type into the search bar of safari it would always come up with a google search. recently it is coming up with a yahoo or bing search and not google. my settings for safari have it set to google as the default search engine so I'm not sure why this is happening. Can anyone help me fix this?

When you go to search something in your search bar , and you click in the search bar at the top , a drop down menu should appear when it gives you suggestions on smart search right ? , well within those list of suggestions in the search bar their should be a little magnifying glass icon in the corner , click on that and another drop down box will appear, then you can choose your search engine preference e.g. bing , google , yahoo etc. click on your preference and it will use that search engine when you search in your search bar. Hope this helped. User uploaded file

I have the same problem. Most likely it came after I downloaded an app a few months ago and every time I change the home page when I open Safari a second time it changes to something like "www.only-search.com….." and the default browser stays on Google but when I type a search into the smart search field the results are from yahoo.

Also, I get crazy popups and a new tab will open if I click anywhere on a main page I am viewing. It is pretty annoying. I have disabled my extensions and that didn't help. I disabled the Java Script and that helps with the pop ups but not the new tab opening when I click on a page or the yahoo default search issue.
