Sep 11, 2014 12:28 AM in response to yc3948by K Shaffer,You could read & compare specification to see which battery here would work:

Also check the MagSafe adapter for worn power cord or dusty/dirty magnetic
connectors that can discourage the battery from completing a full charge. As
the adapters themselves, and connections, can go bad, you may consider a
spare charger as well as a new battery. There may be a slight saving over
retail through a mac-centric company such as OWC macsales for such parts.

Appears your MacBook Pro may be able to use up to 8GB RAM, if yours is:
Model Identifier MacBookPro5,1
Model Number A1286
EMC 2255
Maximum Memory 8.0 GB (Actual) 4.0 GB (Apple)
Memory Slots 2 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
And too, if you are within vicinity of an Apple Store with a Genius bar, you may
contact them to see if they're able to perform testing and run a diagnostic on
your computer charging system. Of course, the battery would be their primary
concern given the report you posted; however if you replaced it yourself, and
let the replacement charge fully before starting the computer, it may be fine.
Since I didn't check to see if your computer has a user-replaceable battery or
if the model has one involving a minor take-apart, you could check that out
and if needed, see the http://ifixit.com page for MacBook Pro, then look into
the section where they may address battery removal procedures.

Hopefully you can continue to get fair to good service from your MacBook Pro model.
