iMac and projector as external monitors for Macbook Pro

HelloUser uploaded file

I'm interested in connecting two external displays (1 iMac and 1 Projector) to my Macbook pro, so three monitors all together. I have a setup in mind, but I'm not sure if it will work, and I have no way of testing this right away.

See the link below to fully understand the setup, but mainly what I want to do is to use an iMac in target display mode (with thunderbolt) and daisy chain the signal from the iMac to an projector with hdmi through a mdp --> hdmi adapter.

Will this work at all?

Hi,

I found this thread while I was searching for similar configuration.

But I failed to set up my daisy chain connection.

I use rMBP 13" for display source, and I connected to iMac as TDM by thunderbolt cable,

and iMac was connected to external monitor(Dell U2713H) via thunderbolt(mDP) to DP.

iMac was successfully switched to TDM mode but external monitor failed to find input source from iMac.

The external monitor set to use dp v1.2. (v1.1 also doesn't work).

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance 🙂
