I tried to use the 4 finger swipe as I've been doing right along to get back to the homepage and the page "locked" and now it won't let me do anything-the home button doesn't bring it back and the little button way at the top I use to shut it off for the night doesn't work either. Help!!

Try resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the "Slide to Unlock" screen will display.
