No. You should not need proof of purchase. The warranty follows the phone. If service in your country is not provided by Apple in your country, you may need to provide documentation to receive warranty service.

There is something that sounds very very wrong about your story. Where EXACTLY did you buy this phone? What model phone is it? Where did you buy Apple Care from?

I have a sneaking suspicion you may not have gotten what you think you got...

#1. I'm not suspicious of you. Stop being paranoid.

#2. It is trivially easy to re-seal a package. Enter the serial number of the phone here:https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

That will tell you if the warranty is still intact and when it expires. The warranty is good for 1 year from the date of original sale. CHECK THE DATE. If it's supposedly only 4 days old, the warranty should be valid until September of 2015.

Why is this an issue? Why is it suspicious? Because there is a 14 day no questions asked return policy on iPhones. The seller would be a moron to sell it to you for $700 when they could have just returned it for a full refund.

You need to register your AppleCare warranty to your device.

anywho i wanted advice im sick of people always being negative on my posts i came for advice not the 3rd degree please if you arent going to be nice dont comment

No one was being negative towards you.

It sounds possible that you may have gotten ripped off.

I’m curious as to why someone would sell an iPhone on eBay 4 days after purchase...

They could have easily returned it and gotten a full refund.

yes my phone has a warrenty till next september the 8th 2015 but 1 year is not enough hence why i got the applecare to extend it to 2016

ive also heard from different forums over the past year saying that apple requires proof of purchase for warrenty claims instead of gettig a indian or chinese person on the phone and asking them and getting confused i thought i would try my luck here

ive switched from samsumg so im completely not in the loop about the warrenty etc i know with any other phone you need proof
