Serial Number issues when installing Final Cut Studio upgrade

I am trying to install iDVD from my Final Cut Studio V3.0 Upgrade on my new Mac Pro (Late 2013). I put the Serial Number that came with the upgrade in and then it requests the serial number from my original Final Cut Studio. It says the original serial number is invalid.

I am running Mavericks 10.9.4. There are no other computers on my network. I've done the usual things, repair permission and a restart with no joy.

What am I doing wrong.

First, do you mean DVDstudioPro? IDVD is not part of Final Cut Studio.

One possible mistake is that o's and zero's - and i 's and ones can get confused. If I remember correctly, the serial numbers consist of groups of letters OR numbers. The individual groups of characters do not mix letters and numbers.

Im having this same issue right now. invalid serial number when trying to install my Final Cut Studio onto a new iMac running Mavericks.

I finally found the Issue! I needed to uninstall Final Cut X before installing FCS 7. Once studio is installed, you can install X, so you can have both softwares.
