1. What other network equipment is used in your current network?

2. What type of client devices do you currently have and plan in the near term 6-12 months?

Some pros/cons of this device are...

1. The A1088 is a 802.11b/g Express, and works with other b/g devices. Mixing 802.11n and 802.11ac devices with the A1088 will cause network slowdowns and performance issues.

2. If you do not have very old printers or old iDevices, 802.11b is almost defunct at 11mbps. G (54Mbps) is still used, but the push is towards 2.4/5G N networks.

3. If you do not need to support devices like iPod first and second gen or iPhone 3g/3gs, I would recommend avoiding using this device.

4. You will also need an older Mac OS because it requires 5.6.1 Airport Utility.

Thanks for your comment Loner T

i have two newer A1264 airports in my network.

I wanted to use this airport A1088 for my son to stream music of his iPhone with airplay.

i couldn,t get this one in my network. but i solved the problem by taking my old macbook as you said, this one still had the 5.6.1 utility

and i configurate the airport with this device, and now it,s working without issues.

thanks.
