computer name does not match terminal / sharing

Hello there,

pretty much by accident I today discovered that my laptop's computer name does no match the name of the machine displayed inside Terminal or in any of the sharing options. Instead it's "android-xxx" whereas xxx are 16 numbers and letters. Here's a screen shot of this mess:

I already tried rebooting, setting the computer name from scratch, setting a different computer name, flushing the DNS cache and deleting as well as setting the ComputerName, HostName and LocalHostName via the scutil command in Terminal. Nothing worked 😟

Any ideas and hints are much appreciated. Oh, and by the way, I am also unable to activate "Find My Mac" in my iCloud preferences. That's actually how I found out about this phenomenon in the first place.
