I can't open iTunes. How can i fix this?

Whenever I try to open iTunes, my computer keeps bringing up and error window. It was working earlier but now it wont. I tried re-installing iTunes like 4 times and it still wont work. Idk what to do because i just got the iPhone 5s and i need to back up my iPhone 5 through my computer in order to restore my new iPhone 5s. My antivirus is expired to so idk if thats the problem but i need help!

Is it possible that the dock icon is from an older version of iTunes? The these steps from this article -

  1. Double-click your hard disk.
  2. Double-click the Applications folder.
  3. Double-click the iTunes icon.
