It is very likely that the liquid damage has caused irreversible damage to the device and requires service. Take a look at the article below for more information.
iPhone and iPod: Liquid damage is not covered by warranty
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3302
If a device is exposed to water or other liquids, corrosion—an irreversible deterioration or degradation of materials—may result. This may cause the device to malfunction. If a device has been or is suspected to have been exposed to water or other liquids, inspect the following areas for evidence of corrosion: the dock connector, the headset/headphone jack, the dock screws, the speaker or microphone mesh, and any exposed metal parts. But, you can still try the troubleshooting steps in the article below.
iOS: Restore errors 4005, 4013, and 4014
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5314
Try these steps to resolve the issue:
- Install the latest version of iTunes.
- Restart your computer.
- Make sure your computer is up to date. If an update requires a restart, check for updates again after you restart.
- Restore using another USB cable.
- Restore your device on another computer.
If you continue to see error 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your device, contact Apple for support.
