Q: "Gracious" upgrade in Legacy storage has disadvantage.

My yearly "legacy" storage of 25GB @ $40 was reduced in price to $11.99.  Fine, but as I read it if I want MORE storage, I lose the advantage of a yearly rate. So, I got a prorated reduction in price, BUT it appears I cannot take advantage of any more yearly rates for increase in storage. This appears to make Google Drive more appealing than before. Why didn't you make the "new" deal one of simply giving me more storage for my auto-pay of $40. I'm missing something obviously.

    Hello Mary,

the other storage plan rates were also reduced (iCloud storage upgrade pricing) like 200 GB for 3.99$ per month, but you have to decide whether you want to use iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox etc.

    Hi Mary,

I totally agree. most of all I am disturbed that I am now forced to pay monthly. very inconvenient. I wonder whether their decision is earnings and tax related. I was happy to stay on my annual fee, of course I am happy that I get a one year grace period for the same 20 GB storage upgrade at a fantastic one time price, but why are we in the future forced to pay on a monthly rather than annual basis.

Let us pay on an annual basis and give us more storage! All theses monthly subscriptions are annoying and make me wonder whether the companies believe we are not able to compare. y x 12 = more or less than before than compare what you get for it. So now 20 GB cost USD 11.88 whilst 200 GB cost USD 47.88. The general question is how much storage to you think you need and how convenient do you want it which either justifies the cost or not. I guess we should all write a feedback mail requesting annual payment plans rather than this monthly headache!

Professionally we use dropbox because we have a mixed hardware setup with Mac & DOS users. But in a private environment I would not want to go without iCloud and need the extra space. So I am trapped and will continue with multiple cloud solutions if Apple does not make iCloud more attractive. I guess the new iOS8 functions will force me to go with the 200 GB solution as the Family Sharing option undoubtably requires more and "shared" storage, or has anyone other info on that?

    regards from Stockholm,

    D
