No, they are probably not playing it safe and they did get a limited amount.

Will let's see what's gonna be happen next..... I am in the same boat like you I just have a update on mine they change the ship date on mine use to be 10/30/14 - 11/22/14 so here the new update.. So who knows they might change the date again..

Same here, ordered on the 9/12. First ship date was 10/2/14 - 10/21/14 then date slipped to 10/31/14-11/120/14. Surprise out of the blue today I got the following message:

I ordered my 6+ Space Gray 64GB at 10am on 09.12.14 through AT&T and was told over the phone that it would be 3-4 weeks. Then received my email confirmation and was given shipping dates of 11.07 to 11.27. Has anyone else seen such late dates? I have read probably a thousand discussion threads and keep seeing that people are getting them sooner; so here's hoping.

I ordered two (2) IPhone Plus 64 GB in Silver with ATT. (one for me and one for my wife). Orderd on Sept 12 around 2pm EST at the ATT store.

My order status on the ATT site says "Preparing to Ship" with estimated shipping date of 11/9/14/ to 11/27/14.

Am I really going to get the phones after thanksgiving? Coworker ordered at 3am EST on 9/12 for a 128GB 6 Plus in Graphite with ATT and received his phone on launch date (9/19)

What do you mean "what is going on here"? Simple supply vs demand. Demand is exceeding the supply. Simple. Nothing you can do but be patient (or you can cancel your order which would make someone else very happy as they could get the phone that would have gone to you).

So what you're saying is since I ordered the same phone 10 hours later, I am going to get it 2 months later?

There are people on this forum who also ordered early afternoon on 9/12 and received their phones. (Iphone Plus's)

you can wonder all you like, but it won't change things. You'll just have to be patient like the millions of other customers waiting eagerly for their device.

So I guess the "first come first serve" ideology with Apple isnt true and shipping is simply random.

This thread is about AT&T orders so what does Apple have to do with it?

Hate to burst your bubble but my dates are now also 11/9-11/27 for the exact same configuration. I don't get it. I'm considering cancelling the order and going through Apple which is quoting 3-4 weeks. 8-12 weeks is ridiculous!

I preordered mine on Sept 14 with a "preparing to ship" status and an expected delivery date of 11/9-11/27. So disappointed, I wonder if the color choices or sizes make a difference? Just curious, what did you decide to do about cancelling and ordering through apple?
