Don't bother to try the link cause you won't find any available stock to reserve, not even the one with contract.

The only unit you could possibly get is by placing your order online, but again even that you will have to wait for at least 3-4 weeks.

It says you can't reserve because there really are no stock on all stores in Japan, just like what the Apple Store staff would say when you visit the store.

When stocks arrive, this link should be useful as you cannot just walk in and buy.  You have to reserve from that link and pick up the phones the same day. At least that's what they told me last week, don't know if this policy will change anytime soon.

And it's best to check at 12:00AM JST. That's when the site starts accepting reservation.

    That's right.

A friend is coming next week and we decided to order online after several failed attempts on the "same day pickup" site(But I got an iPhone 6 and 6plus with the help of this link last Sept 25 and 26).

And I got lucky with the iPhone 6 16GB Gold(sim-free). I ordered one last Oct 4, and it arrived Oct 7.

But this may not be case for everyone so I'm not suggesting you do the same if you are only staying a few days in Japan.

If any of you desperate or leaving Japan soon, you could consider on paying an extra ¥20,000(around $200) and buy them from reseller in Tokyo. Got mine from reseller as well. But if you're buying it here because it's $200 cheaper then your home country, then placing your order online is the only hope.

Could you please mention the name/address of the re seller and how much would an iphone 6 64gb space grey cost?

Like I said, they charged ¥20,000 on top of the actual price, which is around ¥110,000 for the 64Gb iPhone 6. Don't think it's appropriate to leave their detail here. Leave your contact, and I'll forward you their info.

I have an unlocked iPhone 6 which I bought directly from Apple in the UK. I am in Japan now trying to use it with a eConnect Japan SIM and it is not working. Under Settings > Cellular there is no option for Cellular Network to set the APN settings.

I have contacted Apple support and econnect support and neither of them have a solution. I tried resetting the Network Settings, and resetting All Settings with no luck. Apple suggested I do a factory reset on my phone.

I should add that when I put the SIM in my wife“s iPhone 5 it works fine.

Hello, can anybody confirm now that an iPhone 6 bought in a japanese Apple Store works in Europe or other countries?

I´m from Germany and i will be in Tokio in two weeks. I thought i´ll bring my german SIM card to a Japanese Apple Store, buy a iPhone and set it up with the german SIM Card.

Is this going to work and will i be able to use the phone in Germany?

    Thank you in advance.

The iPhone 6 in Japan is Sim Free Unlocked, so it work with any network or any sim card, unless you signed for a contract version. The problem is there hasn't been any stock for the last few weeks.

Thank you for your quick response.

So this means if i would have a contract with a japanese carrier and after e.g. 2 months i want to use the phone in germany on a permanent basis, the japanese carrier would have to unlock the iphone?

And this is something they usually don´t do.
