I upgraded an iMac last week and any time I tried to use the Mavericks link on the "Updates" page of the app store, it errored. Called AppleCare--they couldnt figure it our. The error I got was, "The server gave an eror during download 503: Service not available.

Sep 14, 2014 11:16 AM in response to webbiewebsterby webbiewebster,Thanks everyone. I am trying Allan's suggestion at the moment. It tells me it's downloading so fingers crossed. it did that before however and then simply said it had failed. It's a MacBook Pro which I purchased about 18 months ago. It died on me a couple of months ago.. Completely dead so John Lewis have had it repaired and brought back to life!
It's gone to sleep now so hopefully still downloading!
thanks again...
