Theoretically connecting to MacBook equipped with wireless ac should be fast
Guess I'll find out on Monday when my iPhone 6 comes in but the original question was asking if my Windows PC would connect at USB 3.0 speeds not a MacBook. Yes, I do have a bunch of USB 3.0 ports on it. Takes forever to get pics and videos off my iPhone 4S right now and nobody got time for that lol.
J Cobb answered your question using the Mac as an example. If you look at his screenshot you can clearly see that plugging the iPhone 6 into the USB 3.0 port activates the USB 2.0 hub. This tells you that the iPhone 6 DOES NOT support USB 3.0 speeds.
Hi - just found this as I had a similar issue:
"USB 3 devices will appear in the "USB 3.0 SuperSpeed" section. Other devices will appear in the "USB Hi-Speed" section"
from Using USB 3 devices on Mac computers FAQ - Apple Support
IE if a device is showing in USB hi-speed Bus 3.0 really means 'not connected as usb 3'
for 3.0 speeds it has to show in 'USB 3.0 superspeed'
hope this helps. Cheers

Your explanation makes sense. Sure wasn't apparent from the screen shots, though.
