Q: unwanted pages open in safari for no reason.

I click on a link in safari, then I have unwanted pages open in safari for no reason.  Any ideas. Also now if I click on a link in mail it won't open in safari. What's up?

Thanks

    1. If adware is installed without your knowledge,

download AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here

        http://www.adwaremedic.com

Install , open,  and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button   to remove adware.

Once scanning and removing the adware is done, quit the app by clicking AdMedic in the menubar

        and selecting “Quit AdwareMedic”.

    2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Turn those off and try Safari.

    3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:

Press “Remove all website data” button.

I got the AdwareMedic and that took care of the issue.

It took out a bunch of gunk in safari.

Thanks for the offer of help.
