Q: trovi virus on safari on iMac OS X 10.9.4

At least I think it's still trovi. I had it on firefox but managed to remove it from there but it was still on safari. So I uninstalled all the plug ins from Safari and now it at least goes to the google homepage instead of bing/trovi page like it did before but why am I seeing an ad on google like this? I have an iMac, the latest model, OS X 10.9.4. I've looked through other posts here but I haven't found anything that works for me... thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out!

If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide and AdwareMedic.

Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.

Also when I hover over the ad a grey strip appears at the top of the ad that says "Safari Power Saver Click to start Flash Plug-in"
