Can't see airport extreme usb disk in finder

I am running Mavericks and have a usb disk with 2 hfs partitions attached to my airport extreme. In the airport utility both partitions show up. I am using one of them for time machine. The other is supposed to be a shared drive. I can access both from my Windows laptop. They do not show up in finder and are not listed under the airport extreme icon in finder either.
