java runtime environment alert message

I keep getting the below alert message. It's when I first load up my computer and then it just keeps popping up every now and then and it gets very annoying. It's just constantly popping up. I have no idea what's causing it, I'm assuming some sort of app running in the background. Is there anyway to get rid of it? Or even finding what's causing it so I can delete the app? I've tried downloading and installing JRE from oracle but does nothing.

I'm actually running OS X Yosemite DP7 however it was doing it before I installed it aswell.

You're not supposed to be talking about Yosemite in this forum.

Lanny, the problem is associated with Yosemite, not about Yosemite.

I followed the link and installed the "new Java RE 8" -- and nothing happened. The alert still appears.

I then uninstalled all Java relics -- Java's reportedly one of the most easily hacked programs -- and still the alert appears.

This is really screwed. Oracle, which owns Java, is allowing this to continue without acknowledging the intrusions. Very sad.

Haven't a clue, but why don't you just leave both SE 6 & 8 JRE's installed? They don't cause any issues, at least none that I've seen since I've been running in that state since Lion shipped. This paranoia WRT to Java and Flash Player are really getting to be too much, so I'm finished with the discussion. Good luck on whatever steps you take. 😎
