Why is it so incredibly difficult to download ringtones to an IPhone? In my opinion it is extremely convoluted and difficult.

Why is it so incredibly difficult to download ringtones to an Iphone. I messed with this "process" for over two hours and never could get the ringtones I wanted to download. I went to I Tunes, followed the directions listed and still was unable to download from my computer. The process is convoluted and extremely time-consuming and frustrating. My family and friends that have a different brand of phone have not had this problem. They just select "get selection" and bam, it is done! I am seriously beginning to rethink staying with I Phones.

I think the problem is that you are not familiar with the iPhone way of doing things.

The so called other phones need virus scanner which is not required on iPhone.

1. Ringtones or Tones cannot be download from computer iTunes.

You can buy directly from iTunes using iPhones.

2. They are in .m4r format and cannot exceed 35 secs duration.

3. You can manually create your own customised ringtones just by using computer iTunes.

If you want to know how, post back.

I have 100 songs that I created myself using the songs from my iTunes library - those are free and I didn't have to pay for it.

You can create your ringtones using iTunes or a ringtone maker app in the app store. But you will still need to sync to iTunes in order for it to be on your iphone.

I have tried syncing it to my phone from my computer. I tunes kept telling me it could not "find" my device. I downloaded the tones onto my computer, saved it, then tried to sync to my phone--could not find my device. After over two hours trying to sync to my phone, I gave up. Nothing Apple ever does is simple and easy. Could be the reason so many people don't want Apple products.

I beg to differ since Apple sold 4 million iphone 6 the first day.

If you follow the link I provided you shouldn't have any issues creating and syncing ringtones to your phone using iTunes.

Thank you for your help. You keep using the term "create" your own tunes from your library. Also, I have been to the "store" and purchased a ringtone maker app--that was entirely songs and not that many of them.

I suppose I will continue to try to download the one I want. My husband and brother are on their own. I am not spending this much time and effort and someone else's phone. My brother is the one to convince us to purchase iphones. My husband has a 5S and is not very happy with his either. Again, nothing with Apply is simple.

But thank you for your time and your input.
