How do I delete a blocked voice mail?

I found a voicemail message that is blocked while checking a new message. It should never have been blocked in the first place. I have unblocked the caller and added the contact to my phone list. However, the voicemail message is still blocked. I have tried to delete multiple times. It appears to delete but when I go back to my voicemail screen, it is still there. How can I permanently delete this message? I have an IPhone 4s with IOS 7.1.2.

Hi SusanT73,

Given that your issue with deleting the voicemail persists, I would now suggest backing up the data on your iPhone and restoring it as a new device. See this article -

This is what happens when I delete. The last picture wasn't taken fast enough to show the message showing as deleted and then switching back to block.
