Many apps will only open if I open them immediately after restarting my computer

Lord of the Rings Online, Spotify, many Steam games, and a multitude of other apps will either not respond or only respond (work/open) if I open them right after restarting my computer. I am not sure what to do. Is this something that can be fixed or is there something wrong with my machine?
