Safari's "Preview" and "Download" button icons not working

Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

/Library/Internet Plug-ins

In the Finder, select

Go ▹ Go to Folder

from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.

From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.

I have exactly the same problem as what 'djags' describes. Started I guess about a month ago. Preview and Download buttons are 'dead' but Zoom buttons work okey.

I am using OS X 10.10.2 and Safari 8.0.3

Would appreciate a lot if somebody could help.

Is this a problem with all PDF's, or only one? If only one, link to the download, if possible.

I do have a simolar problem, but my open in preview button work, however the download button does not. I deleted an Adobe plug in that I had but did not help? What should I do?

Flashplayer is not what you need to delete. In Finder hold down the option/alt key while selecting the Go menu item. Select Library. Then Library/Internet Plugins and see if an Adobe to PDF file is there.

You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one. Please describe your problem and include what OS and Safari version you are using.

If you accessed the user Library per my last post, then those files aren't your problem.

Yes.

don't have with name pdf or adobe. But have file named flashplayer..

So there are no files with that names when I go to finder.
