For about a year now, my MacBook has had problems booting. After the Apple logo and pinwheel disappear, the computer displays a blue screen for about 10 minutes before finally displaying the login screen.
Recently I re-installed a fresh version of Snow leopard after completely formatting the hard drive. Incidentally, the problem immediately persisted and the blue screen was also displayed while the audio for the Snow Leopard welcome video was playing.
I think this may be a software issue rather than a hardware issue because:
I ran the Apple hardware test with no errors found.
I performed various Disk utility tests with no problems found.
I booted into a different operating system from USB lightning fast with no problems.
Another problem I'm having (possibly unrelated but I might as well mention it) is that the laptop refuses to wake from sleep.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
