Q: can i use my ibook g4 as an iPod?

i have an ibook g4 that is not being used as it just couldn't cope with the internet any more, but i was wondering if it would be possible to transfer some iTunes music onto it from my current iMac and then it could be used as an iPod, so to speak. is it possible? if not, is there anything i can use it for??

thank you for your help.

On your current Mac, create a new folder on your Desktop. Open iTunes; select any songs you want to transfer and drag them from the list into the new folder. This will not remove them from iTunes.

Now you can transfer that folder to the old Mac, and drag the songs into iTunes there. If any are purchased you will need to authorise that Mac for iTunes if not already the case.

You can transfer the songs by using a USB memory stick or you could set up File Sharing so that you can transfer the files directly over your local network (obviously you need to have a router and both Macs connected to it either through wifi or ethernet).

The method of setting up File Sharing is described here:
