My I pad screen is black and unresponsive. It has gray lines moving down it. How can i get it fixed?

You can try hooking it up to a computer and restoring it. Or you can keep trying the reset. Holding down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds and see if you can force it to reboot.

Anecdotally, some have had success turning their iPad over and giving hte back a couple of good smacks. The guts of an iPad are largely the battery and controlling chips. If the chips are jarred loose, sometimes a smack can jar them back into place. Of course, it can also push your iPad to the point of no return and completely break it. So it's an action you take at your own risk.

if your device is still under warranty, I'd just try the reset and restore and if those don't work, make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
