Fan starts when streaming on MacbookPro 13 inch Retina 2014 model

Hello,

I just purchased a new 13 inch MacBook Pro with retina display.

At the moment I use it mainly for browsing, school and editing music.

I've noticed the fan (and noise) starting and increasing when i'm watching a stream on say NFL network or Twitch TV. Even smaller video clips which runs in 720p+ makes the fan trigger which seems weird for a completely new laptop

Is this normal?

I wathch the same stream as you are reporting and have no fan acceleration, only basic 2000rpm speed while running stream. Try a harmless reset of SMC Management parameters might help. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC).

Hey,

I tried doing a SMC reset but the fans still start after aprox. 2 minutes of streaming.

They are not supposed to do this right? From what I can read in your post it seems like you are watching streams just fine on a completely noiseless system.
