Purchase Apple Care after 60 days?

Have an iPad mini Retina bought new when it came out. Starting to have issues with it and

I would like to know if it is possible to buy Apple Care after the 60 day window?

Specifically I am getting the blue scan bar on occasion (not consistent and have heard

about the toggling of the Voice Over button–seems to work temporarily).

Also, it just jammed up yesterday i.e. non-responsive tapping of items, to the point where I had

to restore to Apple defaults and then restore from backup.

Maybe these aren't big deals. Apple Genius bar checked it out and found no faults (surprise?).

iPad, iOS 7.1.2

Thanks.

When I was in at the Genius Bar today, the Genius implied that it was possible. Should have taken him up

on it except my time at the bar was up (dealing with other woes).

May schedule another appointment just for this issue.

Oh they did replace my iPhone 5 battery under that program they have for defective batteries. Took 45 minutes and am charging up now.

Yes it is possible.
Call tech support and they'll likely transfer you to someone that can help you specifically for this issue.

Pointers:

  1. Have you IMEI ready. You and find this in: Settings>General>About
  2. Be Polite
  3. Make small talk
  4. Be sure you're not too far out from the original purchase date of the device:
for instance, iPhone and iPad have a 60 day grace period from time of purchase, you can usually get away with 61–90 days from purchase. Mac, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air's have a 1-year grace period.

Good luck and let us know how it went.
