why does iTunes not let me edit my music?

i recently just got a new mac book and when i try to edit my music for my iPhone 4s on the computer it won't let me add new music or delete old music. the last time this happened my other mac deleted all my music off my phone and i had to re download it all. how do i get it to let me add music???

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1.2

The phone will go back to behaving as it did before you changed computers. I don't know the details of syncing. I have never owned anything that could sync. Presumably you will do it as you did before when you didn't want to sync everything.

Hey Limos

I do understand the concept of syncing to devices and how they are manually sync was i choose the settings.


But i think i am maybe in the wrong forum as i need help with the Macbook pro.


My problem is i have synced all my music into itunes and now i do not know how to delete them.



I have create another itunes and started again but i am having problems using smart play list and playlist.


Is there a way to uninstall itunes and add the media as i go along putting them into different genres, groups etc?
