Q: Help Troubleshooting Software Error
Fraction Attraction is Sunburst education software that installs in Classic and must have the software CD in optical drive in order to run.
The software installs fine and starts to run, but immediately quits with the following error -
"SetDib(95)failed.newscreen=8screen=3screenname=MAIN "
Does anyone know what SetDib means?
or where to look to troubleshoot this issue?
Could it be with QuickTime or some missing plugin?
The software runs fine in same OSX10.4.11/Classic install on my PowerPC G5, but not on new install on a PowerBook G4 1.5GHz.
I installed OS the same way - from OSX retail install disc, then updated to 10.4.11, with Classic install from Classic install disc that came with the PowerPC G5.
Sunburst software installs into an "f" folder - Fraction Attraction f (the 'f' is italic).
The only files are .RSC files in a GIL folder within RES folder in application folder.
The software CD has the following files -
Alias
Fraction Attraction (application)
Fraction Attraction Help
Fraction Attraction.rsrc
Help Runtime folder
Icon folder
Preferences
RES folder
Help Runtime folder contains -
Help On Help
Microsoft Help
Microsoft Help Bookmarks
Microsoft Help Run Time
MSInfo
RES folder contains the following folders
DAT - .DAT files
DLL - .RSRC files
GIL - .RSRC files
XWV - .XWV files

Never mind. I reinstalled software and this time it installed in a regular folder, not an 'f' folder.
Runs great now.
