PAGES Importing InDesign clipping mask images

I have to do a copy and paste project, the copy is from InDesign and the paste is into Pages. It seems that when I try to copy images from InDesign that have clipping masks applied to them I get weird results like the pasted images are from images that I would think were left over in the clipboard?

I have tried a few things:

1.Copying and pasting the original clipping masked images into Pages ( no good)

2.Re doing the clipping masks in another .indd document THEN copy and paste ( no good)

As far as I see Pages can create clipping masks but rectangle only is there a way to create circled clipping masks, or any solution to this?
