Sep 18, 2014 10:30 AM in response to Nano Tns.by Michele Bugliaro Goggia,I've an iPad 4 running iOS7. Tried the whole day to download iOS8, no luck...until tonight when it downloaded in 13 minutes. Pity the update failed and my iPad went into recovery mode. I had to reset it (with iOS8 this time) and now iTunes is restoring my backup.

Sep 18, 2014 3:23 PM in response to andysatanaby luis_costarica,Hi there!
I will try to explain what happened to me this morning.
I had less than a 1GB on my iPhone 5s so I need that I had to updated through iTunes in my macbook pro. But I didn't do the back up (big mistake).
The computer showed 3 hours time so I left it there since I did not have the time to be that time. I know that the system was downloading and updating but then the phone was not recognized and now is asking to restore the phone.
When I plug it in the capacity bar it says that phone is almost full but in matter of 10 seconds the capacity bar show a blank phone.
I have a previous back up from march that I do not want to use. I would like to use what is currently in my phone (I haven't erase it yet)
Any help?

Sep 18, 2014 6:49 PM in response to Nano Tns.by chamelean75,I don't know what to do. I have an iphone 5. I am stuck in recovery mode. I tried reiboot but it exits recovery mode and then instantly goes back to recovery mode. I'm like in an infinite loop. Anything else I can try?

Sep 18, 2014 8:56 PM in response to Nano Tns.by sdast9,I have an IPad Air. Tried over the air update and it went into recovery mode. Connected to computer and tried to restore. iTunes gave me Error 17. Tried everything to get it out recovery mode.... tinyumbrella, reboot, reiboot, etc. and nothing worked. I finally found this and it did the trick. Hope this helps others with the same issue.

Sep 18, 2014 9:41 PM in response to Nano Tns.by audreyhg,I have an iPad2 and tried to update on Sept. 18. I was stuck in an infinite loop where the download would not complete. This morning, I tried again, and kept getting kicked out during the download. (Interestingly, my spouse's iPad2 processed it this morning, just fine, in about 25 mins.)
I also received iCloud warnings about storage shortage, so I upgraded my iCloud storage tonight. And tried again to download iOS 8. Since then, my iPad has been stuck in the screen showing the cord with the iTunes prompt. Pressing the home/power buttons together to reset (as recommended to do every 2 weeks by a Genius during One to One training) does not work. Plugging in to iTunes results in a prompt that it is going into recovery and the machine will lose all local media.
I appreciate the apps and workarounds posted above and will give them a try. However, this is an unnecessary complication to my mobile professional life until it is resolved.
