Oct 20, 2014 1:11 PM in response to CandyfromYYCby XianNewman,Sorry to hear that, Candy
I also submitted a very detailed bug report but as far as I can tell, it hasn't been acknowledged yet.

Oct 20, 2014 1:17 PM in response to XianNewmanby Eric Shawn2,1. I have. More than once.
2. That is the typical response from Apple. They won't proceed to help you until you do. And most times, that "workaround" doesn't help. But your left with the inconvenience of setting your phone back up to how you like it.
Once you do these, and no resolution, Apple then tells you they'll need to send it out to be looked at. Leaving you even more inconvenienced without a phone for however long it takes them to look at it. If your lucky, they will be even too lazy to do that, and just swap you out with another phone. Not guaranteed it will resolve the issue. But hey, you got a new phone. Just make sure it's still under warranty. Apple Care 2 year warranty does come in handy these days. ;-)

Oct 20, 2014 1:23 PM in response to XianNewmanby Eric Shawn2,You have to wonder if they even want to, or care. Considering the Camera Roll disappearance was complained about at the same time, and THAT was put back in the 8.1 update.
And imo, the shortcuts glitch is more of a functional issue, than having to see ALL your photos in one place. That's like saying Ford changed the type of red their line of cars were painted because people were complaining it didn't look great. But the starter problem that caused people to be stranded was completely ignored.

Oct 20, 2014 3:25 PM in response to XianNewmanby themarkofbooks,1) I've submitted a bug report--though since I'm not a developer, it's just a "feedback" report, not a true bug report.
2) I had this issue on my brand-new iPhone 6 (restored from my former phone). Then, because my 6 had a camera alignment issue, I got a replacement brand-new iPhone 6. I set it up as a completely new phone (not even a restore) and it didn't fix the issue.

Oct 20, 2014 3:30 PM in response to Eric Shawn2by themarkofbooks,I got a new phone because of a hardware issue on my last, and it didn't fix the problem. So a new phone doesn't fix the issue.
I'm curious if this is affected by carrier. It shouldn't be, but this is a bit bizarre. Shortcuts worked fine on my iPad (4th gen) and worked fine when my iPad was iOS 8 and my iPhone 4s was iOS 7. Shortcuts haven't reliably worked since I switched carriers when I got my iPhone 6, though still work on my iPad. So it is POSSIBLE that it is carrier-related.
I'm TMobile. You?

Oct 20, 2014 6:16 PM in response to beatrizarcerby Lohvarn,I’ve upgraded to iOS 8.1, OS X Yosemite, and iCloud Drive. I backed up to iTunes and iCloud. Shortcuts are still not synchronizing reliably between platforms. When it does sync, it’s only between the iPad and iMac.
My iPhone 6 was setup as new when I bought it, and I reset my iPad Air as new at the same time.

Oct 20, 2014 6:30 PM in response to Lohvarnby themarkofbooks,What carrier?
I find it odd that this is *just* iPhones that have trouble syncing. Does anyone have an iPhone that syncs but an iPad that doesn't?

Oct 20, 2014 6:35 PM in response to themarkofbooksby Lohvarn,Both iPhone and iPad are on the same AT&T Mobile Share Plan. Everything else iCloud Drive-related syncs fine, other than Numbers occasionally getting stuck and requiring a phone reboot (sigh).
Now after doing a backup/sync to iTunes the shortcuts synced in multiple steps to my iPhone (a shortcut got added, then a few seconds it was modified properly). When I deleted one of them from my iMac, nothing happened on either the iPhone or iPad. Then fifteen minutes later, the original version of my modified shortcut popped back up on my iPad, next to the corrected version. Ahhhhhh!

Oct 20, 2014 6:41 PM in response to beatrizarcerby vrom,After detailed email exchange with a Senior Advisor at Apple Support, who put my account in "troubleshooting mode" for 1 week to diagnose the problem, I got as far as an acknowledgement of the issue and was promised a fix as of 10/13/14:
"Our Engineers have isolated an issue with keyboard shortcuts and are targeting a fix in the near future. Check for new updates across all your devices as they become available."
As of 10/20/14, after iOS 8.1 and OS X 10.10, the problem remains.

Oct 20, 2014 6:47 PM in response to beatrizarcerby devonhunter,It is 9:45 pm EST on 10/20/14. I have just installed Yosemite, I bought an iPhone 6 yesterday, updated to iTunes 12 and everything about this new phone is a disaster. It has taken 24 hours to sync my apps, my music won't sync at all, and all my shortcuts are gone. So no, Yosemite didn't fix this.

Oct 20, 2014 8:07 PM in response to beatrizarcerby themarkofbooks,Just FYI, I installed Yosemite and it deleted ALL my shortcuts as well. Thankfully, I had backed them up using CMD+A and dragging them onto my desktop. To restore them, you can just drag and drop them back inside that window.
Haven't upgraded to iCloud Drive yet. Will keep you posted as to status, but thought I should echo the previous warning in case of you are about to upgrade to Yosemite.

Oct 22, 2014 6:57 AM in response to beatrizarcerby Brian Smith5,This appears to be fixed in iOS 8.1

Oct 22, 2014 2:51 PM in response to Brian Smith5by TechKris,Nope. I had this working actually up until I upgraded to Yosemite > turned on iCloud Drive and iOS 8.1 on iPhone 6/iPad Air > iCloud Drive turned on, I did not upgrade to iCloud drive until I had Yosemite installed. Now shortcuts is showing on Mac and iPad but It is completely blank in iPhone and when I add something on iPhone nothing happens. Have tried everything in this thread and shortcuts has remained blank in my iPhone. Frustrating. This is making the keyboard lagg as well...

Oct 22, 2014 3:23 PM in response to TechKrisby GeoFan49,All my iOS Keyboard Shortcuts are still failing here, randomly and intermittently, day-to-day.
Sometimes they come back, after I toggle OFF iCloud Drive, then back ON... Takes a few minutes... Wait for it...
IF that doesn't work, try toggling off/on Predictive Keyboard... Maybe, sometimes, that helps...
IF that doesn't work, try ADDING another keyboard (such as Canadian English) and deleting the standard ENGLISH keyboard...
REbooting will always make my shortcuts go awry. My iOS Keyboard Shortcuts will stop working (for hours or days) after rebooting my iPad, every time... Sometimes they come back, on their own, after a while... sometimes the interventions mentioned above are needed to RATTLE THEIR CAGE!
Rinse, lather, repeat... As needed... Good luck!
Maybe iOS 8.1 will help? NOPE!
