"Ask to Buy" says my son is sharing purchases from another family member (me), can't enable ask to buy.

My sons both have had ipads with their own icloud accounts, but logged into my itunes account... I could add them under Family Share, but I can't enable "Ask to Buy" because it says; "<son> is sharing purchasees from an account also used by another family member. Ask to Buy can be enabled only on account that are not shared.

I have logged out of iTunes on his ipad, and logged him in, and it still gives me this error.

Any ideas?

This does not work. There is no way to change age for apple id of child under 13. These apple ID are forced to be set up using iCloud and iCloud does not support changes of DOB. Hoping apple fixes this considering I can't erase the family member either if they are under 13 so I am literally stuck.

Found Solution.

Had to un family him, make sure he was signed into itunes as himself, and re-family him.

Right but won't un-familying him make him ineligible to re-join a family for a year?

Worked for me. No issue with removing / re-adding family member. I've had to do this about 10 times with my own account to work out bugs and I'm still a member of my wife's family.

What about for children under 13? Can't unfamily-them and re-add them and also can't change their age. Any ideas?
