Sep 22, 2014 9:32 AM in response to ritrockby Johnny Oxford,That Chinese solution looks dodgy to me.
I have the same issue, I have downgraded to 7.1.2 - I had to reinstall everything manually though, as it would not update thro itunes. I am just happy to have got the 2G / 3G toggle back.
I have spoken to Apple but they are being moronically vague and refusing to answer direct questions.
They know that the issue is with ios8. They will jsut not admit it is a problem.
Unfortunatley I get the feeling that between them and the networks they are trying to phase out 2G.
That is fine, if 3G is as good or better in terms of network coverage! BUT IT IS NOT!!!! As thousands of users all over forums all over the internet are demonstrating.
How B@@@@Y minded can you get Apple?? Fix it! You broke it!

Yes, i would tend to agree. Not too much bandwidth left in 2G, to accommodate the growing Customer base. However, the ground reality is connection quality & coverage is weak/poor - will have to live with draining batteries in the interim - long interim

Sep 23, 2014 10:48 PM in response to rohith81090by hossains,i have downloaded iOS8 in my iPhone 4s and i am getting the option to toggle between 3G and 2G. What i understood after speaking with the Apple Service center is that the issue is with the latest model - 5c and 5s in which default LTE support is available. Now if apple can release a patch that can resolve the issue.

Sep 24, 2014 10:29 AM in response to hossainsby ritrock,Hello
Guys just updated my cellular iPad with the iOS 8.0.1, well for me it solved my 50% issue i guess, it didn't add any new 2g toggle but it switches to 2G very much fast, I had 3/5 signal of 3G after 2mins, it switched to 2G network showing "E" on 8.0 it never did the automatic switch so fast earlier.
Please share your experiences.
Regards!

Sep 24, 2014 9:44 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by rshettar,Hello,
I saw iOS 8.0.1 and all sudden it is rolled back.. By this it came to know Apple is not doing proper check before releasing it to users.. This is a shame on Apple.. Don't know what kind of checks are done.. This is really a crap from Apple.

Oct 1, 2014 12:54 AM in response to ChrisJ4203by andy1404,If it is really a carrier issue, worldwide all carriers are acting in concert. I don´t beleieve this. Unless sombody shows me a screenshot with this toggle under iOS8 8.. I still believe that Apple is responsible for this inconvenience...

Oct 1, 2014 1:00 AM in response to andy1404by CagdasCizer,This is not a carrier issue at all. It was fixed by Apple in ios 8.1 My carrier did nothing to fix it I just installed the beta and there is my toggle in screenshot. As you can see it is different from normal toggles. There is no lte in Turkey but there is toggle but it is weird.

Oct 5, 2014 5:57 PM in response to Johnny Oxfordby salman88,You know what, I have a way out of this problem, sell the apple phones damit. We have been fools by believing apple quality service, now lets make people fool, and purchase a better phone which fits our requirements. And if apple admins are reading my comment, come on guys, have some guts of accepting the fact that your iOS8 is unable to meet the people's ease. Hats off to your efforts of developing it, but my 1500 MHz battery doesn't have capacity to last long all day with 3G, and I am a busy man, its irritating to move around with your charger in pocket. So, I suggest you guys, instead of deleting my comment, take my criticism in fair spirit. Or, there are many options available in market.
