Neither do I. What has that got to do with anything?

Sep 17, 2014 5:10 PM in response to petermac87by Satanatos,That I would be using a carrier, that could fully support
y Ip5 . Now to throw a bone: why would I be able to switch 2G/3G on iOS 7 and not on iOS 8? Same carrier. It all points to Apple as I just had an escalation call with my carrier that rejected making anything. Oh and a friend that is still on iOS7 can switch network modes. What gives ???

So America does not have fully supported carriers? Only your country, where ever that is?
Unfortunately your posts are becoming progressively less reliable and believable each time. Either post some facts and/or links or give us all a break.
Much appreciated

Sep 17, 2014 8:48 PM in response to rohith81090by lloyd_iFan,Hi Rohith,
There will always be a way. Try using this option.
What you could do is create a back up of your phone, do a factory reset and its same as before. Mind you it takes 1.4 Gb of your data and after restore is complete iTunes tells yout there is a carrier update available and REMEMBER to click cancel.
Good luck and cheers,
Lloyd

Sep 17, 2014 9:58 PM in response to rohith81090by yonkyjisa, hello, im in indonesia. and if you use 3g in iPhone in Indonesia it will very very use your battery life.. because our infrastructure in here is still not good.. and there still not a LTE in here because our government policy. ive just updated ios 8. and for us in indonesia is very bad update on removing 2g toggle button.. because our iphone will get overheat because its trying to regularly find 3g signal which is very poor in here.. please take this into consideration. because iPhone is selling in Indonesia right??? and we are still a market for apple right?? or are we not???

Sep 17, 2014 11:30 PM in response to lloyd_iFanby Satanatos,Thanks for this Lloyd, but it did not work for me. Will have to have the cellular turned off until this is resolved, or a jailbreak comes out that fixes this stupid thing. And by all looks Apple will have to suck it up !

Sep 17, 2014 11:41 PM in response to Satanatosby chaitanya93,@rohith81090;Experiencing the same problem.I have contacted the apple customer support regarding the issue and it apparently seems that apple has removed the option to toggle between 2g and 3g.The carrier has no role in this issue and i have been addressed by the customer care executive that he will raise this issue and there might be chances that it'll get resolved in the next update.
I suggest you to do the same so that apple will know the intensity of this issue and will resolve it soon.

Sep 17, 2014 11:44 PM in response to chaitanya93by Satanatos,Just as I suspected. Never received carrier update notice. Good. That means things will play out as expected. And considering Apple has great CS, it will soon be sorted out in our favor. Thank you very much for this update !

Sep 17, 2014 11:52 PM in response to rohith81090by teralv,Reply from Norway:
My phone is Iphone 5. I upgraded from ios 7.x.x yesterday (latest version) to ios 8. Same carrier as before upgrading.
I use to set phone in 2G mode as default, and 3G if i need much data, and then set 2G after.
When upgrading to ios 8 button 3G is deleted, and ACTIVATE LTE is inserted here.
I speek to carrier now, and them tells they cannot do anything. Apple have done this, and nothing carrier company can do.

Sep 17, 2014 11:58 PM in response to rohith81090by Rizzu26,Am also from INdia. as like everyone i have updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 yesterday. Same problem with my iphone cant trun off 3G. I knew that it is not the problem with the Apple or iOS.
When i checked with my carrier they dont know anything about it. They are just telling about GPRS setting. Even they cant understand the word "Carrier Update".
My question is How to manually update the carrier?

Sep 18, 2014 12:04 AM in response to rohith81090by sevendayss,I do hope Apple will focus on this iOS 8 issue and bring back the 2G/3G switch, cause not every carriers on every countries has support LTE yet and even worse some countries still bad at 3G signals for example in my country Indonesia.
Apple would surely have to do something about this if they didn't want to lose thier customers..
