Photos out of order in Events after iOS 8 update

I have an iPhone 5s that I just updated to iOS 8. I sync photos from my Aperture library on my Mac, which show up as a "Events From My Mac" album under "Albums" in the Photos app on my iPhone. In iOS 7 and before, events synced from Aperture would show in reverse chronological order, which made sense. Upon updating to iOS 8, all the events are in a random order. I have events from 2008, followed by 2010, then 2009, then 2012, then 2008, etc...

Has anyone else run into this issue? I know that I'll probably have to resort to telling iTunes to stop syncing photos, delete the "iPod Photo Sync" folder from inside the Aperture package, then re-sync all the photos, but before I go through all that trouble, I was hoping someone might have an easy fix.

MIssKill: I haven't tried folders but put two albums in a folder and see what happens. You can always write your out comings here 🙂

as for "syncing albums" I first deleted all photos from my iPhone, then I unchecked all opinions in iTunes before I meticulusly checked just my albums (they show up in the tab picture) after that it was no problem. Remember; if you have tagged any faces then iTunes (iPhoto) will build you a folder called faces NO MATTER WHAT. Same goes if you like me have a smart folder called "videos" and are syncing the in your albums

iphoto thinks you want it that way. Sad but true

Having the same problem, not through Aperture, but syncing via iPhoto/iTunes on my iMac. Events still syncing alphabetically on iPad Air which I haven't updated to iOS 8, and were fine on my iPhone 5, but now with the iPhone 6 and iOS 8 they will not sync alphabetically.

Interesting point, learned from someone else on this forum: If you go to Contacts and edit a contact to then choose a picture, Events will appear alphabetically sorted within that screen. Therefore the phone has them sorted but it's not showing correctly in the Photos app. This is definitely a bug.

I called Apple Care and they agree it's a bug and made a note of it. They also suggested sending a feedback form to Apple, as others have done here. The iOS 8 feedback form is only open to developers at this point, but he suggested I use the iPhone form which I did. Either way, it gets reported.

If you are having the same problem, PLEASE report it via an Apple feedback form (just Google Apple feedback). This bug won't be fixed until enough people report it. Thanks.

Ok.....so the Photos app on our iOS devices is really starting to p i s s me off. My wife took some pics of our daughter on her iPhone with photostream enabled as it has always been. Went into iPhoto today on my mac as I wanted to take a look at 'em and only found 3-4 were in photostream out of about 12-13. While troubleshooting (which is all I seem to be doing these days with my Apple products, which are supposed to "just work") I decided to turn of and restart photostream on both mine and my wife's iPhones. Did that, and then when all the pics reloaded, they were also now in some random mixed up order, just as events are. In addition, the photo count in photostream on my mac has always matched the iPhones. Now both phones have maxed out in the low 400's with my wife's device having a bit more than mine while photostream on my mac has right around 1000, as it always had and the pics of my daughter, which I can clearly see in the "recently added" album, have still failed to upload to photostream on any device. AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGG!

In addition, I have just discovered duplicate photos in the recently added album. Also, if I take a pic on my iPhone and have photostream on the screen on my mac, the pic shows up almost immediately. If I then delete it on my iPhone, it is deleted from photostream on my mac almost instantly as well. This seems to be unusual behavior as well. In the past, once they were in photostream, they were there and they couldn't be removed so easily. Also, if you then go to the recently deleted album and recover the photo on the iPhone, it DOES NOT reappear in photostream on the mac. So IMHO, the iOS photos app is, right now, a useless piece of garbage.

Then you will soon get the problem, of not be able to sync all your photos.

Beside the unsort problem of the faces, the events and the recently added, I have the problem, that the sync aborts almost every time. I've synced 72.000 pics, but a few pics and some intelligent albums are still missing. Sometimes I get no message, but the sync aborts, sometime I get the message, that sync is not possible, because the previous sync wasn't finished.

I've repaired the library several times and synced about 80 times in total. Recently I've got more than 15 GB of other stuff on my phone, which can't be deleted. When I start with a fresh iPhone it still aborts the sync due to the amount of photos. And every abort generates this 'other' stuff.
