Is there anyway to delete the attachment photos in imessage details?

I had the same problem. I finally solved mine. If you press and hold on a text (not a pic), options pop up...choose "more." You then will have the option to check mark each text/pic you want to remove. If the pic is older you may have to scroll back quite a bit (which ALSO is terribly frustrating...could take a long time). Once you find the pic, check the box next to the pic...choose the trash can in the bottom left corner...DELETE...VOILA!

Press and hold on to the photo(s)...

...choose the 'more' option to delete multiple.

Does that permanently delete the picture on all of the devices in that chat?

This does not work on iPhone 7. All photos are attaching to the details of contacts and there is no press and hold the photos that allows them to be deleted.

My 6s is doing the same thing with ios10
