Multitasking Gestures occasionally fails (ios 8)

same problem. occasionally occur.

as a temporary solution...

open and close notification center.

(swipe down / up from the top edge of the screen.)

and then you should have multitasking gestures work well.

Same With my iPad Air. Since the Update sometimes instead of closing programms with Four Finger gesture, it just scrolls up. Unsing the scroll down Menu, cannot be the solution. Please apple do solve this Problem!!!!

my problem only occur when no apps in background, then when I use four fingers and swipe up the multitasking didn't comes out.

Same thing. Have iPad 4 retina with Logitech bluetooth keyboard. 4 finger swipe to close does not work very frustrating. Apple, what IS THE FIX?

If you turn OFF Mutitasking Gestures by going to Settings > General > Mutitasking Gestures, and then turn it ON again, it fixes it. But after a day or so you have to do it again. I imagine they will fix this soon.

I am having the exact same problem. And, the only way I can solve it is to go into settings and turn multitasking off, and then turn it back on. Hopefully this will get fixed in a soon-to-be update!

And it appears to recur intermittently. I have had to toggle multitasking gestures option about daily, usually when using my ipad first thing in the morning. Can't believe that Apple missed this. Not the same Apple that SJ built.

This is happening to me all the time as well. Never had the problem until after I updated to IOS 8. I really hope they fix this soon. 😕

I have had the same issue on my ipad mini since downloading the update. Sometimes it will work and sometimes it won't.

Same with my iPad3...also has a few glitches with the photo's app....jerky motion and missing features ?

I've been having the exact same issue. Glad it's not just my iPad. Turning multitasking gestures off and back on in Settings fixes it momentarily as others have said, and so does opening and closing the Notication Center (which is very odd, but it works). I assume Apple will fix this in iOS 8.0.1.

Also, on an unrelated note, is it not possible to add photos to a note document in the Notes app on iPad? I read that that's a new feature in iOS 8, but no option to add a photo shows up when I try to do it as articles have shown. Maybe it's an iPhone-only feature?

I have seen a few features mentioned in articles that are supposed to appear in ios8, but then i saw that some of those features only work in iPad Air and iPad mini (and iPhones) for some reason. Not sure which features they were, offhand, but this sounds like one of them. If i find the article i saw i will post it.

Sounds like Apple are having their Windows Vista moment , hopefully they get this sorted out, it is a pain at the moment

Just had this happen to my iPad Air. Only the one time, so far.

The fix, as mentioned earlier, is to go to settings > multitasking gestures and toggle it OFF, then back ON.

Only been ten minutes, but so far it hasn't failed again.
