iCloud drive stuck on "upgrading" since installing iOS 8?? Help please...

When I was entering my info to begin using iCloud drive after the install, it wouldn't accept my apple ID password so I sent a notification to my email and verified the info and now if I go into my iCloud settings, iCloud drive is stuck on "upgrading" and is draining my phones battery....

It does not sound like your issue has anything to do with upgrading iCloud Drive. If you are signed into iCloud and Find My iPhone with an old ID, then it remains signed in until you sign it out.

If you simply changed that old email on your Apple account to the email you are using now, you can go back to: Apple - My Apple ID, sign in with your current email and password, and EDIT your email to be the old one. This is temporary, so do NOT validate the email address and do NOT change the password.

Sign out of Find My iPhone and then go back to: Apple - My Apple ID and change your ID back to your current one.

If it is a different Apple account altogether, then you need to click on the Forgot password on the Apple - My Apple ID link, and then answer the Security Questions for the old ID in order to change the password. If you cannot remember the password, then you will have to contact Apple Support to get a reset link: ACCOUNT SECURITY SUPPORT

Reset your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the "Slide to Unlock" screen will redisplay.

The iCloud servers are probably overloaded right now.

But you probably want to read this before you go ahead and implement iCloud Drive:

I had this same problem on my iPad Air, tried rebooting, soft reset, etc. Oddly enough, I flipped my ipad to airplane mode, which then gave me an icloud drive error, but then the iCloud Drive went from "upgrading" to "on." I turned off the airplane mode and all still seems fine with the iCloud Drive. Not sure what that did, but I was happy to see the continual upgrading go away. Hope this works for you guys too!

My iPhone 5S was stuck on upgrading iCloud Drive for 2 days. The fix from Apple was to reset settings (settings/general/reset/reset all settings) and to reboot the modem (BT Homehub in my case) . It was a connectivity issue apparently. I did a backup on iTunes first as a reset of settings loses a few things like the wallpaper and ring chimes.

So i ended up fixing mine myself. It was stuck saying "Upgrading" to iCloud drive for going on 2 days. Its an iPhone 5 I tried resetting dozens of times (Holding home and power button until apple logo), running in airplane mode etc etc etc. I had never synced this phone before with iTunes and i have a windows laptop. So i plugged it up, downloaded iTunes, then went and downloaded the windows iCloud interface program, and while it was syncing to iTunes i got the interface program working. I let it do the syncing thing, turned the phone off and on again in the normal way after it was through, and what-do-ya-know! it is FIXED! It says iCloud Drive is On, and everything is working 100% and i didn't lose so much as a note or an email in the process. So my advice it to sync with iTunes, and reset your phone. I don't think the interface program i downloaded did anything to fix it, but i have never logged into or signed up for cloud anywhere but on the phone itself. So if the syncing doesn't work then try it.
