Sep 24, 2014 11:40 AM in response to DocRoxAllby Sail1973,Thanks for this, switching off wi-fi networking has solved it for me. iPad mini Retina is now back on 5Ghz channel and working a treat.

Sep 24, 2014 12:19 PM in response to yeekonby DocRoxAll,8.01 installed, issue is not resolve by it, NOR by disabling the WIfi Tracking mechanism...:(

Sep 24, 2014 12:40 PM in response to Sail1973by venexoz,Umm I did the same thing as you but it only lasted for a few hours maybe a day at most. I don't know what mess-up did Apple do but with what happened with 8.0.1 today too I don't doubt Apple is just not checking their software well at all
I switched to 2.4GHz hopefully that will help for now but we will see.
My router doesn't have Auto on 5GHz so I chose the highest channel it would allow me and it worked again for a few hours or a day maybe and started with the problems
Apple just needs to actually do some work and fix this. I mean a WiFi iPad that can't connect to the WiFi is pretty dumb

Sep 25, 2014 8:41 AM in response to venexozby DocRoxAll,Yeah, nothing so far, lasts, only short-term speed-up, then back to slow and halted. iOS 8 was clearly rushed out without adequate testing...I have a relatively NEW ipad mini retina (less than 6 months old)...it should work with this upgrade...but they clearly didn't test it.

Sep 26, 2014 3:43 PM in response to DocRoxAllby paallaire,Has anyone tested 8.0.2? Is this helping us at all?
With the state of the 8.0 release and the 8.0.1 tentative ... I am afraid of trying anything new

Sep 26, 2014 5:18 PM in response to yeekonby johnfromoregonia,I've done all the resets and other suggestions all over the Internet but still having terrible wifi problems on iPad Air, iPad Mini and iPhone 5. Never a problem with IOS 7 on any device, mine or a guest. The wifi just hangs with the little circle going rouad and round, never completing until the page load times out. Turning wifi off and on will make it work for a while, but is quickly goes back to being dead. Even when it works, it's slow. I can do the same thing on a Nexus 7 and the page load in a flash while the little circle does it's thing.
Like the iPhone 6 issue of not making phone calls, I say this is critical for iPad wifi users and it must be fixed. How could Apple possibly have not encountered this? Maybe because network of most testers is fiber?? I'm on DSL and all devices work great, even Netflix, but with nothing else going on the IOS 8 devices are trashed.

Sep 26, 2014 9:05 PM in response to godsidekurtby getstu,Is Apple Friggin' Serious, ios 8 is buggy garbage, Has Anyone Quality Tested this CrapOSware! Having to Reset Network Settings Every Few Hours to avoid constant spinning/loading Apps/Safari that continually fail to stream, load or AirPlay smoothly is Not Acceptable. Cook and Crew Need to Take Responsibility for this Diminishing Quality or Deserve the Axe!
I was at an Apple Store in Hollywood, CA. and demoed the new iphone 6 plus, unfortunately it too was Also affected by WiFi bugs and was unable to find Any WiFi networks. When i called over a sales guy too inform him the demo unit was broken He admitted there were other ones on the floor plagued by the same lack of Any Available WiFi networks but best of all He did not seem to care or thank me for informing him of the disabled Demo Unit. This is the definition of Upside Down.

Sep 27, 2014 12:00 AM in response to yeekonby EmmaLM,After 8.0.2 wifi still stuffed on my ipad air.

Sep 27, 2014 3:19 AM in response to EmmaLMby John369,Got a call from Applecare last evening, in regard to a post on this forum and the WiFi issues. I explained that I have not had any issues since last Saturday morning (7days). I just chose to connect to the 2.4GHz network signal on the affected device, my iPad Air, and have not had any problems since. I done NOTHING else other than pick the 2.4 signal on the iPad under Settings, WiFi, Choose A Network. I am still running on 5GHz on three iPhones (two 5 and one 5s all on IOS 8.02) an Apple Airport Express and one older ipad, with no problems at all. He was going to suggest running an event logger, but as I was no longer experiencing any problems he would try someone else. Running the iPad Air on the 2.4 GHz signal is giving me almost identical speeds as the 5GHz was, from a 100Mbs dual concurrent hub.
The problems I was experiencing, was extremely slow networking. I was unable to recieve any email and could not view any internet, the details were all posted last week on this discusession. I have since updated all my devices to IOS 8.02.

Sep 27, 2014 7:16 AM in response to johnfromoregoniaby johnfromoregonia,John369 said he has switched to 2.4 Ghz and has no problems. I have always had my router set at 2.4 Ghz for extended range and am having all of the wifi issues others are posting about. I'm not so sure that "slow wifi" is correct. I think it is intermittent connection issues. When it works, it works. A page will partially load plenty fast, the stop with the spinning circle. It might resume, but more often than not, I have to go to settings and turn wifi off and on, then it resumes or will connect when it didn't and will be fine for a spell.
I have 8.0.0 on the Air and iPhone 5, 8.0.2 on the Mini -- no difference.
Even making the wifi connection takes longer than it should. The circle will spin and spin after the device has indicated it is connected with a check mark.
Safari might be contributing to this problem. When a page partially loads and the circle keep spinning, I can go to another tab and do something else, but if I go back to the partially loaded page, the circle is still spinning. Any chance Safari is overwhelming the wifi connection? Even stopping Safari and turning the device off, then back on, Safari will still try to reload that incomplete page. Annoying!
In addition to a Nexus 1st Gen and a 2nd gen having no problems with wifi, other devices I have continue to function without issues, even an 3rd generation iPad with the last IOS 7 release. There is now doubt in this persons mind that IOS 8 is the problem.
I'm pretty much tired of debugging Apple's IOS issues. My personal iPad Air and Mini are practically useless devices. I think I might head to Costco today and but a Galaxy so I can have wifi access while this is getting resolved -- or if it doesn't, I might like the darn thing.
