Sep 19, 2014 10:39 PM in response to JDChudleyby Phyallys,I Too find browsing a slow process. I see Apple have changed/removed a number of options in Safari too, that annoying "top" hit menu cannot be removed. We have this every time a new OS a comes out so until these bugs have been addressed I'm re- installing iso7.

Sep 19, 2014 10:56 PM in response to yeekonby Phu0ng,I have the same problem with iPad 2 GSM. wifi still connect but no internet, cant even ping to gateway.
Tried to downgrade to 7.1.2 but the issue remains. I don't have any problem with my wifi prior to ios 8 update.
I reconfigured the wifi, switch from 802.11 b/g/n to 802.11 b/g to avoid 5Ghz band, and so far my iPad works ok, still on7.1.2 though.
So it seems the ios 8 has caused the wifi to have problem with 5Ghz band in a way that even after rolled back to 7.1.2, the issue still there.
Hope to have permanent fix from apple soon.

Sep 20, 2014 12:42 AM in response to osterscby Morac,I have a feeling it's the restart that occurs when resetting network settings that gets things working, not resetting the network settings itself.
My 5s has been sluggish when loading web pages in Safari and downloading mail and the like, though speed tests using a speed test app shows speeds over 40 Mbps. Yet when I went to http://testmy.net and tried to run the Safari based speed test, I got a network connection lost error page three times in a row before the test finally completed. My iPad 2 running iOS 7.1.2 passes the first time. I've seen network lost messages in the gmail app as well.
I noticed that any app that accesses a web page now spawns it's own copy of WebKit, likely do to the allowed hardware acceleration for javascript. My guess is that either a bug in that or the fact there's so many of them causes the slowdown.

Sep 20, 2014 2:48 AM in response to Moracby John369,Using iPad Air and Virgin media super hub (2GHz and 5GHz). Having same WiFi problems for last few days after IOS8 update. WiFi and settings resets only work for short time, then same slow down. Typical speed test results before update were Download 56.26 Mbps and Upload 8.80 Mbps 12ms Ping. Now Download 0.17 Mbps Upload 0.02 Mbps and 70ms Ping. Internet unusable, even changing settings was slow. Tried swapping from 5GHz to 2GHz and this seems to have gave me a temporary fix. System back up to more typical speeds, for the moment. Hope Apple can get a permanent fix out soon!

Sep 20, 2014 2:49 AM in response to Sail1973by Exxonuk,Everyone here has a 5ghz router then?
Like I poste already - at home wifi is extremely slow with my iPad air and iPad mini. On my IPhone and PC everything works fine, on the iPads the pages load forever or dont load at all, videos too.
Caus of work I'm at a hotel at the moment and everything works fine on my iPad so my guess is it really has to do something with my Airport Xtreme and 5ghz.
When I'm home tomorrow I will check if it works on the 2,4ghz channel with dual band on. If not I will disable dualband and see if it works then on the 2,4ghz channel

Sep 20, 2014 3:44 AM in response to Exxonukby John369,Yes it does seem as if a lot of the problems are related to 5GHz WiFi. Now receiving email on iPad for first time in two days. I was also having problems with my Airport Express and Spotify setup - play stopping intermittently and Airport Express hanging, new 2GHz setting has also fixed this for now.

Sep 20, 2014 4:02 AM in response to goonprawnsby William Smith11,GoonPrawns, is correct and his steps is what fixed mine. That would also explain why some find a factory reset works as it probably sets channels to auto. I have an iPod Air and ios 8 same issues as everyone else, WiFi works a little while and then goes to pot, reboot and it starts over, repeat. I have a dual frequency set up with a TimeMachine router and the 5Ghz was the issue. I was using channel 11 and 7 I recall. Going to auto channel in wifi set up on router FIXED IT.

Sep 20, 2014 4:17 AM in response to yeekonby roberta0967,Definitly looks 5ghz based issue, just put a 3G card in the ipad and browsing worked fine.
So looks like Apple needs to do some testing with a 5ghz router and release a fix

Sep 20, 2014 4:53 AM in response to William Smith11by Sail1973,I tried auto channels on my BT Hub router and that didn't work. So sticking to 2.4Ghz until it's sorted.
Just another thing, does everyone who's had a problem also have their phone come up as a Personal Hotspot on their iPad too? Am assuming it's nothing to do with the issues...
