I just got an iPhone 6, 64 GB yesterday. I had a Motorola Razr M Android phone until yesterday. The upgrade to KitKat 4.4.2 had messed up the Bluetooth connectivity with my 2013 Subaru Outback and Legacy both with the Type-A radio. I could no longer get them to pair. I could pair my iPad 3.
I found that I can pair my iPad 3 and the iPhone 6 (both with iOS 8). However, if you turn off the ignition and back on or when you start the cars, which momentarily kills the power to the radio, you loose the Bluetooth connection. You have to re-pair the link. I fiddled with some Bluetooth speakers at Radio Shack yesterday. I found that for at least one of them the link re-established itself when you turned the speaker off and then on.
I called Apple Care and spoke to someone who first told me you have to establish the link each time in the car. He then he put me on hold and spoke to an advanced support person who apparently said that that should not be the case. I never saw this problem with the cars and the Droid which was running Android 4.2.
So: Does anyone else have to redo the link each time?
