Q: iPhone 5 iOS 8 Bluetooth issues with Audi A1

Apon upgrading to ios8 my iPhone connects to my cars bluetooth car kit(Audi A1 2012) but every time I place a call from my car the call drops from my car and i am only able to speak on my phone. Sometimes as my phone connects to the bluetooth kit my car dials the last number in my call log but in fact its not calling at all it just says it is on my cars display...

Please if anyone is having the same issue or knows what to do

Having the same problem in Brazil - Hyundai HB20 Hatch.

Since installing iOS8, I'm having a lot of problems using Bluetooth in the car. I'm able to listen to music using Spotify, but everytime I receive a call, I can't hear the other person over the car speakers. I have to put the audio on the spearkphone.

Hard reset don't solve my problem , they are connected but the car's system don't respond.. Honda HFT ( handsfree system ) has a symbol when they are connected , and that is on. But no sound out or in. When it calls, the ringtone come from speakers. But when I pull the answer botton nothing happens and the iPhone goes over to only iPhone or I can use speakers on iPhone.

"Reset Network Settings" did nothing for me and the problem I'm having. I have a 2013 Toyota Prius C Two (non-touch-screen-radio). The last few weeks, my iPhone 5 on the iOS 8 Gold Master worked perfectly (I'm in the app developer program).

Once the "release to public" version of iOS 8 came out, I dropped that on top of my iPhone 5. I could play music, podcasts whatever over Bluetooth just fine; but the phone buttons on either my car's steering wheel or on the radio just made the audio pause. Answering calls, making calls would NOT work over Bluetooth at all. Unpair, repair, Reset Network Settings on the iPhone 5 did NOTHING. Once I reverted back to the Gold Master of iOS 8 however, everything worked just fine.

Fast forward to this weekend; my iPhone 6 Plus arrived. Same problem as the public release of iOS 8: audio can stream just fine…music, podcasts are great. Try to make a phone call though, initiated from either the iPhone, the steering wheel phone buttons, or the phone buttons on the radio, and NOTHING happens. Radio screen flashes "PAUSE" but no phone calls work thru Bluetooth at all. I don't have access to a Gold Master of iOS 8 for the iPhone 6 Plus, so I'm out of luck I guess until  fixes this.

Unless someone else comes up with a fix…again I already did the Reset Network Settings on the 6 Plus, re-initialized Bluetooth on the car radio, erased all past phones that were connected, and no dice.

I'm having exactly the same problem in my 2013 Nissan Murano. The car bluetooth connects but the iPhone 5s (and my sons 5c) thinks the connection has failed. I've discovered I can sometimes choose to have either an audio player connection or phone, but not both. So if I need to use the handsfree phone, that will work, but the music won't work afterwards. SOMETIMES I can switch back to the audio the next time the car is stopped, but not always. Boo!! Apple developers, please put this near the top of the bugfix list!

    thank you!

I went to the local Apple Store when they opened today. I was told that generally you have to pair the phone with the radio each time. That was so it could connect to different systems. I don't see why. My Droid Razr M, when it would talk to my Subaru's before the 4.4.2 upgrade, would connect automatically to either one without having to pair it each time. I stopped by a Verizon Wireless store nearby and asked about say a Samsung S5. They thought it should connect each time, depending on the car audio system.

I found that 'Reset Network Settings' did not work for me either, but 'Reset All Settings' did work.

    Havond the EXACT same issue!!!

had the problem since yesterday.tried to connect on citroen berlingo carkit and problem started.

checked it on my VW Golf 7 carkit, same problem.

have tried to delete the Bluetooth devices on iPhone to reconneca afterwards but no answer.

even tried with reset to factory settings on carkit, but still no improvements.

what DOES work is the blutooth media player.

So i guess this is a bug in the software that needs to be handled quickly with a new update.

allready glad I'm not the only one with this issue!

    greetings

Yes! I can't believe it. Reset All is the only thing that worked. Thanks for the reminder. I'd read that suggestion earlier in the thread but didn't think to try it for some reason.

It's been a bit of a pain re-setting all my…well, settings…but in the end it's worth it. It's against the law to use a mobile phone without hands free in my state, so I was getting desperate! I could just let it go to voice mail, but it was bugging me that it worked one day and not the next. Thanks for the reminder @trollius.

For G-Rex and others: Could someone please describe what else happens with a "Reset All" in addition to resetting the network settings (which I've already done to no effect)? My internet search does not discover an Apple response to this question. Responses from posters to other forums are not consistent. e.g. Did you have to re-establish your email accounts? I know important data will (should) not be deleted, but how long did it take you to reset all your settings?

For those who report "problem solved" after a "Reset All," please come back and report on this thread if you discover that your problem returns.

    Thanks a lot!

    Don

A "reset all" does NOT erase music, videos, email accounts, etc.  says as much when you try to reset all, you're asked 2-3 times if you're SURE you wanna do so.

What I remember having to do after resetting all was: turn keyboard clicking off while typing, Zoom settings, wallpaper (home and lock screen), wi-fi networks and bluetooth connections (since all Network Settings are included in reset all), sounds, Touch ID, Privacy (location services--a few per app settings changed, I had to re-do them), iTunes & App Store settings, iTunes Match, ID passwords, Messages settings, FaceTime settings (addresses, phone numbers, etc.), Safari settings, and GameCenter.

So pretty much down the line in the Settings app up until you reach 3rd-party apps--most of that stuff has to be redone. I was not logged out of Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo or Flickr or any of my email accounts.

As I don't spend all that much time in my car, I'm going to wait for iOS 8.0.1 and/or see what they tells me in response to my AppleCare ticket. Curiously, my wife's iPhone 5S, purchased at the same time and upgraded to iOS 8 at the same time as mine, seems to work OK connected to my car (for the first time). I say seems, because I connected it yesterday in the garage, but haven't yet driven around with my wife or her iPhone.

Thanks for the info, T-Rex!.  "It's always something."

I Think this is an iOS 8 issue. I have a new iPhone 6 and I can pair it with my 2013 Mini Countryman but there is no audio and the radio interface says "cannot connect" even though they are paired.

LOoks ops like Apple needs to release 8.01 to fix this
