Q: iPhone 5 iOS 8 Bluetooth issues with Audi A1

I experienced the same scenario as you.  Resetting Network settings and removing bluetooth devices from the vehicle and iPhone (5s) did nothing for me.    Reset ALL settings worked.  Thank you for sharing this!  It feels great to be able to use hands free again.

Same problem with GLK 220, iPhone 5s/ iOS 8. I have try to reset all settings , it worked for while but after a day it come again.

Apple do something with the next update !!

Same Problem on Mini Cooper 2009 and iPhone 6 on iOS 8.

Bluetooth connected, but no call possible, speaker ist muted and nothing happened.

Problem FIXED today by a full reset (just doing networks did not fix it)

Hate to say but, please try again tomorrow and you will see it was only a temporary solution , I was able to make it work that way by next day the same thing happened again on my 2012 Audi Q5

There is no permenant solution for that bug yet

Ok I have just got off the phone with the Joint Venture team at Apple where I explained this to them. They say they are unaware of any bluetooth issues being reported....Really???

Their "advice" was to erase all the data on the phone and set it up as a new phone and then try to see if that works.

Seeing as they are saying they don't know of any issues with the bluetooth I would hold your breath for a fix soon, unless everyone reports it as a bug and / or phones applecare we could be stuck with the issues until it happens to a CEO in their Rolls Royce ;-)

There are many other individual thread identifying the same problem with other cars.

I just "talked" to the Apple support via Live Chat. They said there are known issues concerning the bluetooth problem with handsfree and either the car manufacturers will have to update their software (haha!) or the problem may be fixed with iOS 8.0.1. I was not given any other solutions e.g. resetting my phone, the network settings, re-pairing my phone, etc.

So let’s hope Apple is highly aware of the problem and will fix it asap.

So glad this got picked up by CNN even if all the details are not correct...   My iPhone 5S did not work properly either once I upgraded it to iOS8.   Weirdly, my wife's 6+ seems to work fine.   Something with the specific configuration of each phone seems to be throwing it off or everyone would have the problem.

I'm having the same issues with my Pioneer FH-X700BT. Originally I thought it was an issue with the head unit, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with issues.

Now, my phone does not work without Bluetooth either!!!   Somehow, the update knocked out the cellular connection too!! 

For those of you who have already updated, Apple is telling people a full restore from iTunes should correct the issue. I'm testing now, thankfully I always do a backup prior to an iOS update
