Sep 24, 2014 11:06 AM in response to fkick1by Ryan007,To be clear, you mean a full restore from iTunes to v. 8.0.0 fixes the cellular issue, but not the bluetooth issue?

Sep 24, 2014 11:16 AM in response to fkick1by markctpr,I don't use iTunes. Any reason to believe the restore won't work if I erase the phone and restore from iCloud?

Sep 24, 2014 11:17 AM in response to fkick1by MarineHillsTuff,This is such BS. Why can't Apple get this sort of rookie stuff, right?
Backing up now and then doing a Full Restore via iTunes. Took me offline in the middle of the work day.
Will a restore wipe the device, and if so - will I have to restore from a cloud backup to get all of my data back?

Sep 24, 2014 11:21 AM in response to MarineHillsTuffby www.BrianRowland..com,All I had to do was un-pair the iPhone from the two devices I was having trouble with, the car (Mercedes C-250) and a phone dock speakerphone (ION MOBILE) and they worked fine after I re-paired them.

Erase all settings did not correct the issue for me, I had to do a full restore of the OS through iTunes. However, restoring from the iCloud backup afterwards should be fine.

A OS restore through iTunes will wipe the device. If you have a recent iCloud backup you can restore all your data by selecting "restore from iCloud" after the OS restore completes.
If you do not have an iCloud or iTunes backup, make one before selecting the OS restore option in iTunes.
FYI YOU NEED TO TURN OFF FIND MY IPHONE WITH DEVICE ON WIFI BEFORE YOU CAN RESTORE>

Sep 24, 2014 11:22 AM in response to dsjankelowby takethatfan1978,II'm also having a problem trying to connect to blue tooth in my car. Was working 100% fine until updating software. Now my music plays fine but when trying to make calls it either ends call straight away or I get 'calling private number' and hang up option on my dashboard, pressing any controls in car does nothing and the only way to get rid of it is by turning radio off!
i have tried restoring my phone and also deleting and repairing phone but not working. It's very annoying!
my car is a 2010 Megane coupe, always worked fine until now!
does anyone possibly have any ideas? I can't find any solutions.

Sep 24, 2014 11:25 AM in response to fkick1by MarineHillsTuff,Thanks fkick1. Will the iPhone backup work faster, post restore, if the backup image is done locally on the computer instead of cloud?

Sep 24, 2014 11:28 AM in response to MarineHillsTuffby fkick1,It depends how many apps you have/how big they are and if you can be tethered to a computer. If you need to move quickly, restoring from iCloud gets your phone up and running faster, it'll just continue to download your apps in the background when on wifi (they'll show up dark grey until they complete their download, just like if you were downloading from the app store). If you restore from iTunes, it has to push all those apps down to the phone of the usb connection, and if you break the connection some apps might not reinstall.

Sep 24, 2014 11:50 AM in response to dsjankelowby tdielmann,I have updated my iPhone 5s OTA with 8.0.1. No cellular problems. After updating I have done the following steps:
Connect with my car (over existing bluetooth pairing) - Problems still occur
Delete pairing in iPhone
Resetting car hands-free equipment (VW Golf 6)
Re-pairing
Test with incoming/outgoing call - works
Disable bluetooth in iPhone and re-enable it, connect with car again - works
Switch off iPhone, switch of hands-free equipment, restart both, reconnecting iPhone with handsfree, do some test calls - works
I will try it again.
At the moment Apple officially has stopped the rollout of 8.0.1. I will observe the behaviour on my 5s and continue to report here.

Sep 24, 2014 12:13 PM in response to dsjankelowby G-Rex,I chimed in around page 8, or page 10 or so…wanted to check back in & say that a full Reset Settings (*not* just Reset Network Settings) DID work…but only temporarily.
As others have pointed out on this thread, once you unpair the iPhone with your car, erase all traces of the iPhone from your car, and then do a Reset All Settings on iPhone, yes…Bluetooth connectivity returns and works.
But only for a short time. A reboot of the iPhone, or a sync with a computer, and it's back to streaming audio of any kind just fine but NO PHONE CALL capability. At all. Either my car radio will disconnect from the iPhone (in my case, an iPhone 6 Plus) immediately and connect about a minute later but still not work with telephone functions in any way.
My car is a Toyota Prius C Two, 2013. The Gold Master of iOS 8 worked fine on my "old" iPhone 5, but once the public version of iOS 8 dropped & then I received an iPhone 6 Plus, it doesn't work at all. I can't find a Gold Master of iOS 8 for the 6 Plus (I'm in the Developer Program). Wish I could, I really want phone functions to work.

Sep 24, 2014 12:29 PM in response to dsjankelowby Rick600,
I foolishly did the 8.0.1 to my iPhone 6. Goodbye cell connection. I did an iTunes backup and then an iTunes restore to 8.0.1. You don't have the choice to go back to 8.0. I had to at one point unplug the phone from the PC, hold the home button, and plug it in again to get the restore done and then restore from the iTunes backup. I have now have cell service again.Thereis still the problem with the Subaru Type-A radio. If you turn off the key, or start the car or, or do an off/on with the Bluetooth on the phone after you have paired them you loose the connection. However now with 8.0.1 you can get it to connect again in the Bluetooth menu by tapping on the item and waiting. Sometimes you have to hit it twice but you don't have to go through the pain of a complete repair.

Sep 24, 2014 12:57 PM in response to Griff1973by chinook77,This worked for me, Reset All Settings and unpairing the iPhone from my car radio. After that, I'm able to use hands free on my iPhone 5s again. Both, streaming music and phone calls. Thanks for the head up.
Regards.
