Q: iPhone 5 iOS 8 Bluetooth issues with Audi A1

Apon upgrading to ios8 my iPhone connects to my cars bluetooth car kit(Audi A1 2012) but every time I place a call from my car the call drops from my car and i am only able to speak on my phone. Sometimes as my phone connects to the bluetooth kit my car dials the last number in my call log but in fact its not calling at all it just says it is on my cars display...

Please if anyone is having the same issue or knows what to do

A Little late to the party there, Michael. But thanks for trying to help. Many of us have tried that for and it works until syncing our phone or simply getting out of our cars and back in, etc. it seems to be a short term solution that only fixes the problem for a one time use

and im having the same problem with system apps crashing all the time

II'm also having major problems with the phone feature itself. I can make or receive a call but then I get absolutely no audio. And I have to try to call the person 4-5 times before getting a successful connection with audio. And I'm not even talking about Bluetooth. That's hapoenibg while just using the iPhone device itself With no bluetooth. This iOS is a mess

it really is a big mess without him. so far here's what I've found why this iOS is absolutely terrible. Hopefully what I'm saying makes sense:

    iOS 8 problems -

    Mail:

Can't tap top in landscape to scroll up. Same in messages

    iOS:

Have to swipe up twice in apps in landscape to get to control center

-when using app switcher in landscape, apps don't automatically change orientation upon opening. All previous iOS implementations they did. Now you have to flip phone right side up then back to landscape mode

-can't pull down on notifications that aren't actionable to open Notification Center. Have to wait for them to go away or swipe them up then open notification Center

    AirPlay:

Have to access control center to use it. No longer on videos

    Control center:

AirPlay and Airdrop should share the same uniform "look" when opening

-when playing a video in landscape and opening control center, airdrop and AirPlay open differently. AirDrop opens and landscape but airplay opens in portrait view

And this is all aside from the bugs I'm seeing such as system apps crashing, misplaced buttons covering content, mmissing keyboards, no camera roll lol. Totally unreliable iOS  Sometimes screen doesn't register what I'm trying to touch or doesn't register my touch at all

I'm having issues with my 6 plus and 14 altima fully loaded. got the phone and it paired with car just fine. few days later, the carrier field in the car display changed from att to no network. thats when the problem began. calls come through to the phone but not to the car, even though the car shows that it is connected to the phone and the phone shows the same. i reset the all settings, that fixed it but only temporarily. same thing happened few days later. i exchanged the phone at apple to a brand new one. same problem. 8.0.2 didn't fix it (nor did it fix some of the things it listed as to be fixed). I'm outraged

Apple does not participate in the forum. As stated earlier in the thread, to get feedback to Apple, you use this page HERE, and click on the appropriate link.

I've filed a developer bug with apple and included a link to this forum. It's number 18440474

They haven't responded yet (but I don't expect them to for a little while, they usually only respond if they need further information or logs from devices).

If I hear anything I'll report back.

    This is super super strange:

i fixed the Bluetooth by doing reset all settings. Bluetooth was off when I did this. Connected perfectly and worked. Also deleted all BT profiles in car (audi s5) And is working reliably I think. Turned car off and back on. Reconnected perfectly. Restarted phone and reconnected perfectly upon entering vehicle.

    BUT...

this is the strangest thing. It takes forever for Siri to come up, and when she does she has a blue background and the top of the screen says "voice control". I've never ever seen this before. So now BT seems to be working, but Siri is all screwy. Anyone know whats going on and can help me get siri back?image.jpg

I figured it out. Resetting all settings turned siri off. Hopefully BT will still work after turning Siri back on. Will report back

I had the same thing happen in an S5.  Sadly, things stopped working altogether once the phone was rebooted.

II'm sorry to report back that after setting up my phone after resetting all setting and after syncing I have lost BT capabilities once again. Phone connects but audio drops back to phone. I though maybe siri was causing the problem bc when I turn Siri off, I get the cell bars to show upon my car screen but sadly, even with siri disables the same thing happened.

APPLE, FIX THIS. it is clearly CLEARLY an issue with iOS 8. Stop telling customers to go to their car dealer as that makes no sense. YOUR products must be compatible with all BT firmwares in vehicles as you are making a product for millions of people with varying car Manufacturers and years.

MY MAIN PROBLEM: I'm an apple fanboy and am on the verge of switching to android but I don't want to. At the same time, I don't want to be stuck with an iPhone that may never work properly and then be out of warranty
