Oct 1, 2014 3:16 PM in response to OnAir33by markctpr,So, I've been at this since early on and have tried re-setting and re-pairing many times without long term success. However, I think I may have found something new. The problem seems to be related to the continuity function for folks with multiple iOS 8 devices. I disabled settings-facetime-iphone cellular calls on ALL MY IOS8 devices which disables continuity and the bluetooth/wifi handshaking between devices on the same iCloud account.
While I've said this before--things seems to be working. I did NOT need to reset by settings, network settings, or re-pair either. I tried rebooting the phone, restarting the car, turning bluetooth on and off, pairing an additional device and all seems ok.
Try it and let me know if it works for you or if I'm just having a moment of good luck.

Oct 1, 2014 4:28 PM in response to staggerlee41by clyde c,This could be the beginning of a deal breaker for me.
2014 toyota worked perfectly before 8.0.2 update.

Oct 1, 2014 6:50 PM in response to markctprby Trixie090370,I tried what markctpr suggested (disabling facetime iPhone cellular calls on all my iOS 8 devices).... with no luck. Still having all the same Bluetooth connectivity issues with my iPhone 4S and my aftermarket car audio system. Sigh.

Oct 1, 2014 6:55 PM in response to Trixie090370by markctpr,Do you have other IOS8 devices on the same iCloud account? Did you disable those too? It worked for me. Just tried it on another car too and it finally seemed happy.

Oct 1, 2014 7:30 PM in response to markctprby Trixie090370,Yes, I have other iOS 8 devices (an iPad mini) on the same iCloud account, and I disabled facetime iPhone cellular calls on that device as well prior to testing my phone's bluetooth connection with my car audio system.
I hope Apple is making a serious effort to fix this major bug, because they stand to lose a lot of iPhone faithful customers (including me) to android devices if iPhones will no longer be able to connect to car audio systems with any consistency.

Oct 2, 2014 3:04 AM in response to dsjankelowby TomTcz,Have a same problem after upgrading my iPhone 5s to IOS 8 and using with my Audi A4 2010 model and two Jabra GO6400 hands-free (at home, at work). My wife's iPhone 5s which is not upgraded to IOS 8 yet works still well.

Oct 2, 2014 3:36 AM in response to TomTczby Corper,So after trying reseting all the settings possible, restoring the phone, wiping the phone etc I finally went into the apple store and had the phone exchanged for one with the previous iOS 7 on and won't update until I can be sure it works fully.
Don't know if anyone else also noticed the battery drain after upgrading either, after upgrading my phone wouldn't last half a day.

Oct 2, 2014 5:10 AM in response to Corperby Claggles,I would be interested to know...
How many people posting on this discussion are experiencing Bluetooth car connection issues when attempting to make a hands free call using Siri?
I have been make a call through my cars speakers when I dial directly from my iPhone 5, I can even talk hands free..
But..
if I try to initiate a call using Siri the call will not connect. ('call terminated by network')
SIri dialling and connection issues were never a problem until I
upgraded to iOS 8. Now it simply does not work with my car.

Also the instant on headsets like Nokia 218 doesnot work.. -
Oct 2, 2014 12:47 PM in response to stb-1by Johnny E,I too was fine with my 5S before upgrading to IOS 8, now bluetooth is no longer working correctly with either of my cars though does work with headset and BT keyboard. I did a reset all on the iPhone which fixed it for 2 days and then the problem started again. Talked with Apple support twice and they would not acknowledge that this is a known issue, very frustrating.

Oct 3, 2014 9:55 AM in response to dsjankelowby esporenthead,Exact same issue as OP on a brand-new Ford Escape with MyFord Touch system. Although with the newest 8.0.2 update I can make calls through the system but cannot view contacts or download text messages. Also trying to pair my other phone locks the system up completely.

Oct 3, 2014 1:04 PM in response to dsjankelowby G-Rex,I concur with a poster on an earlier page: the Beta of iOS 8.1 fixes all Bluetooth connectivity issues--at least on the two Toyotas we own.
