Fort all those of you with issues, can you check for any iOS or Mac devices under Settings\Bluetooth\Bluetooth Devices.

You will need Bluetooth turned on to see the devices. If you are experiencing issues, you should have an iOS device with iOS 8 showing up here or a Mac computer running Yosemite. If you click on the ! icon, the option to 'forget this device' will be greyed out.

Can those of you with issues confirm you have one of these devices showing up under Bluetooth Devices?

IIn my opinion, one problem is that Apple is extremely reluctant to ever admit a bug in the software. It would make it so much easier and less frustrating for all their users if they would simply post a bug list. The Bluetooth and car audio issue is well documented on the Internet.. For me, when I got my iPhone 6 and restored from a saved backup of my 5s, it worked in my Mercedes.  But I have horrible battery life issues and several other problems as well.  I restored and set up as a new iPhone. The Bluetooth in my car connection now became broken. Same issue as everyone else.  I restored again from the 5s backup and my car Bluetooth works again.  Go figure.  But why can't Apple simply provide a list of known issues?  It would make our lives easier.  Also, Apple doesn't tell their support people about these bugs, either.  So while Apple support is outstanding and incredibly helpful, they are kept in the dark like the rest of us.

You can, and should, send a bug report to Apple.  Don't expect an acknowledgement, though.  In the mean time, hope for a speedy release of iOS8.1 and a hope that the quality control manager for iOS 8 and 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 (and Maps) has decided to take an early retirement and is not overseeing 8.1.

I had a phantom device (an iphone with my full name on it, which I never use to name devices).  I figured out how to delete it by going to "manage storage" under iCloud on my iPad mini, which was the only device on which the phantom phone appeared.  Now it's gone.

Never mind.  The phantom device came back . . .

OK, update:  I signed out of icloud.com on the iPad mini and then signed back in.  Now, on both the iPad mini and the iPhone 6, the other devices show up under Bluetooth, with "Forget this Device" grayed out.  I have shut off FaceTime and the Handoff, but they both seem to be looking for each other . . . Is that what supposed to happen?  And why can't I "forget" them?

I am having major issues with the ios 8. Everytime I connect my iphone 5 to the Bluetooth its dials a random number and calls through the speakers as if I have a call coming through but infact there is not a call coming through at all. I have tried deleting all connections off the car and reconnecting my mobile but this has not fixed the problem. I have also updated to ios 8.0.2 but again this has not solved the problem. It is becoming very frustrating especially when I get a call whilst I am driving. this is meant to help driving but it is doing nothing but cause problems. So thank you very much apple for once again letting yourselves down.

Does anyone else know what else I can do to fix this or do I need to take my brand new audi back to the garage?

Okay, I believe I have finally got this resolved fully for myself, I've tried everything to replicate the issues after trying this fix and so far it is holding up for me. This fix has a caveat though, you will lose Handoff - at least until Apple can fix this.

    The steps are:

    1. Check on your iPhone under Bluetooth devices for any iOS devices running iOS 8 or Macs running Yosemite. These devices will be listed automatically and if you select the ! icon, the option to ' Forget this device' will be greyed out. Take a note of these devices.
    2. Unpair your Bluetooth connection from your car.
    3. Turn off 'Handoff' on your iPhone - Settings \ General \ Handoff & Suggested Apps \ Handoff
    4. Go to each of the devices in turn from the first step and turn off Handoff. iOS - Settings \ General \ Handoff & Suggested Apps \ Handoff. Mac - Settings \ General \ 'Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices".
    5. Now select 'Reset All Settings' on your iPhone under Settings \ General \ Reset.
    6. After the iPhone restarts, turn Bluetooth back on. The devices from step 1 should no longer be showing.
    7. Pair your iPhone with your car. All should be working fine now.

The above will continue to work provided you leave the 'Handoff' option disabled on all your devices. The 'Reset Networking' option did not work, there must be some setting stored which is only affected by the 'Reset all settings'. This means you will need to do some device configuration again after the reset such as wallpaper, sounds and other personalisations but this should not take long to put back.

A slight amendment to the steps on my earlier post...

    3. Go to each of the devices in turn from the first step and turn off Handoff. iOS - Settings \ General \ Handoff & Suggested Apps \ Handoff. Mac - Settings \ General \ 'Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices".
    4. Now select 'Reset All Settings' on your iPhone under Settings \ General \ Reset.
    5. After the iPhone restarts, turn off 'Handoff' on your iPhone - Settings \ General \ Handoff & Suggested Apps \ Handoff
    6. Now, turn Bluetooth back on. The devices from step 1 should no longer be showing.
    7. Pair your iPhone with your car. All should be working fine now.

So far these steps have worked perfectly for me. On my journey to work today I was finally able to make a phone call successfully without it cutting out and going through to my phone and without the car showing I have a random phone call coming through. So tg am you very much for thede step by step instructions. Maybe Apple should do something with their software though because I will be so annoyed if this happens again because it is so danergous When trying to make a phone call and it cuts off!!

When I called Apple about this problem they suggested that I reset all network settings. So it's reset all settings rather then reset network settings? Wouldn't resetting all settings set the phone back to stock?

Reset network settings doesn't do it. I suspect because there is a seeing in there relating to Handoff. Reset all settings is required. This doesn't affect any other app settings, content or media. It only resets system personalisations Such as passwords, wallpaper, sound settings etc.

the option to wipe the phone back to stock is 'erase all content and settings' which you do not want to select.

    Im sorry

But when companies like Toyota and BMW says there is an issue with EVER apple phone running 8.0 then Apple does have a problem.

This is 100% an Apple issue. Pretty much every make and model of car is experiencing this issue as soon as people use iOS 8. It is related to Handoff, new functionality in iOS 8 and will continue to be an issue until Apple resolve this. The fix for the time being is to disable Handoff or iCloud on your device - if you follow my steps from earlier then you can enable iCloud and still have everything working fine without the ability to use Handoff.

This also isn't just isolated to cars.

my Sony and Nokia Bluetooth headsets also does not work as well as my car. Resetting procedure makes the car and the headsets only work for a while sometimes only one call.

Have you checked for any Handoff devices under Bluetooth devices?
