Oct 14, 2014 3:40 PM in response to smarcelinosby Mac Pro 8core - x86,Audi Q7
- During the phone initialization step it keeps making a call that cannot be canceled, no problems with BB Z30, factory reset the Audi MMI directory, deleted the phone entry from the phone's local contacts but the car keeps calling that same number when ever the iPhone connects!

Oct 14, 2014 6:26 PM in response to dsjankelowby ColRay,It's pretty much across most brands of cars. It's an iOS 8 problem. Some have had some success by nuking WiFi and Bluetooth settings, changing the name of your iPhone, "forgetting" the car's bluetooth, unpairing the old name of the phone in the car, then restarting your phone and pairing from scratch. Otherwise, Apple is supposedly working on a fix for iOS 8.0.3.
Whoever wrote in this thread that Apple is not responsible for assuring compatibility with all automaker systems is just plain wrong (or an Apple troll...) They are. It's a reasonable expectation for your OS to wrk properly with recognized auto industry standards.

Oct 14, 2014 6:37 PM in response to ColRayby EdHans,Given 8.1 is rumored to be out Oct 20 with Apple Pay, I doubt 8.0.3 is coming. I've seen posts by devs and beta testers that 8.1 doesn't have these issues, so it seems it is fixed. Now us mere mortals just need to wait for the update.

Oct 15, 2014 4:39 AM in response to Donkasby Claggles,I would be interested to know...
How many people posting on this discussion are experiencing Bluetooth car connection issues when attempting to make a hands free call using Siri?
I have been make a call through my cars speakers when I dial directly from my iPhone 5, I can even talk hands free..
But..
if I try to initiate a call using Siri the call will not connect. (Message on car reads. 'call terminated by network')
SIri dialling and connection issues were never a problem until I upgraded to iOS 8. Now it simply does not work with my car.
i have followed this discussion since it began Trying all suggested remedies, handoff removal does not fix my problem.
Apple please fix. Nearly 39,000 views and 360 replies to this discussion surely must indicate this is a major problems!!

Oct 15, 2014 12:26 PM in response to dsjankelowby vdbv,Hi again everyone,
Thanks to the folks who suggested that problems with Bluetooth may be caused by the Handoff feature.
I can now confirm that my Citroen C3 Picasso is working normally with iPhone 5S and iOS 8.0.2.
In my case the problem had to do with Handoff indeed.
I've simply disabled that Handoff in the Settings and then re-paired the car and the phone. No network settings reset or iCloud disabling was needed. Neither I disabled Handoff on my iPad nor deleted the iPad from the list of Bluetooth devices. Just turned the Handoff off.
That fixed the problem.
I've been using the phone in the car for a few days already after disabling Handoff, and everything works fine: incoming calls, outgoing calls, address book, call history, music and podcasts streaming to car's audio.
Thanks again to everyone who posted different solutions in this thread.
Good luck!

Oct 17, 2014 4:23 AM in response to dsjankelowby Agentfruit,VW Golf, Discover Pro, iphone 5S, iOS 8.0.2 has severed BT connectivity, and also ability to play music via USB cable if BT is switched on. Music menu still there but no music, and phone showing connected but it says no network although phone shows full network. Sometimes it makes a few seconds of a call and drop it, then puts me in a conference call with myself and freezes the whole system. Only way to end the call is to switch off the phone. Even switching off and on the Nav unit leaves the call connects to myself and frozen.
Ccan an dial from the phone but no sound if dual BT and USB connections. Reset network settings worken the first time, for one call only. Next time it didn't work. Done a full restore....no change. VW dealer says most of their range is now not working with iPhone.
Total shaambles.

Oct 17, 2014 11:55 AM in response to vdbvby superjeans1,I have the problem on iPhone 4S running iOS 8.0.2 on a Seat Mii.
Don't understand the iCloud fix, and the 4S doesnt have Handoff & Suggested Apps.
I am well and truly stumped,. and can't believe Apple have let this get out without testing such a fundamental thing.

Oct 17, 2014 11:56 AM in response to IPKby cincydnb,I also have a Prius (2009) and similar issue.
Can not use home button to initiate a call but if I bring up the number and then click the call goes through correctly. I want to get the home button functionally returned!

Oct 19, 2014 1:20 AM in response to Donkasby stb-1,I tried your suggestions they only work for to make the first call.. after the call initiated car drops the call to phone and locks.. I also disabled most of the car bluetooth options like directory search etc allowing only voice transfer it also didnot work.. For audi mmi there is a hard reset thing after unpairing the devices I both resetted the phone and the car then paired again.. Everything results in the same way.. doesnot work.. Now for over a week I am using the original apple headset (never used before ) waiting for the update.. If the update doesnot solve the problems have to say bye to apple..

Oct 19, 2014 1:30 AM in response to stb-1by Donkas,Do you have any Bluetootth devices showing up on the iPhone? You shouldn't have any showing up. It's been working consistently for me apart from yesterday after I had updated my macs to Yosemite which enabled handoff by default on them so I had to go back through the steps again. Back to working again.

Oct 20, 2014 4:05 PM in response to dsjankelowby ColRay,iOS 8.1 (came out today 20 Oct 2014) fixed this issue on my iPhone 6 Plus. Car is a 2013 KIA K5 Optima Turbo SXL.
Looks like Apple fixed the problem. I'd be curious if it fixed it for other brands of cars. I sincerely hope so for all of you

Oct 20, 2014 6:34 PM in response to ColRayby cincydnb,Just upgraded to 8.1 but it still does same thing. Connects to Blue tooth fine. Using home button asking Siri to place call it looks like it is going through and then call terminates. Very frustrated as this is a safety issue. Have a 2009 Prius.
Can place a call if i pull up the number myself and then press that number but this is not safe in traffic as i need to look at phone. Need a fix quickly or i might have to lose the phone and go to another maker.

Oct 20, 2014 7:30 PM in response to cincydnbby fkick1,Does your 2009 Prius support Siri eyes free? If not then it sounds like your car may need a software update.
